Tim Horton

Born: Cochrane, Ontario
January 12, 1930

Some coffee fanatics may not be aware that before
becoming a successful donut entrepreneur, Tim Horton was an exceptionally talented hockey player. He played an amazing twenty-four seasons in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres; winning 4 Stanley Cups and appearing in 7 NHL All-Star games. Even though he was a celebrity, Tim never forgot his roots. He would frequently return to Cochrane during the off season. "Brother Love" is proud to help with fundraising for the new Tim Horton Events Centre. Our "Reunion" CD sells for $10 and $5 from each sale goes to the Centre. The picture below shows Tim presenting MVP awards at the Cochrane Minor Hockey banquet in 1961. Pictured from left to right are: Gary Pearce, Mark Calaiezzi, Albert Calaiezzi and Tim Horton. Seated is Roger Lacroix.
